Master Reference Unit

QSROnline will use one primary location as your main reference location. This is how QSROnline will define menu items, job codes, or discount names. It is important that other locations’ database setup match the master reference location.

Finding the Master Reference Unit

Importance of the Master Reference Location

QSROnline uses the Master Reference Location to generate the list of menu items, discounts and job codes that can be viewed/reported on in our system.  It is very important that all menu items, discounts, and job names are added to the master reference unit and this configuration (item number and description) matches across all other stores.

Why is this important? Let’s use menu items as an example.  If a menu item exists in one location, but that menu item has not been added to the master reference unit, then that menu item will not appear in QSROnline.  Likewise, if menu item numbers and descriptions do not match, then reporting will be inaccurate.  For example, the master reference unit has menu item 3546 listed as Double Cheeseburger.  But store number 2 has menu item 3546 listed as tomatoes. Every time, tomatoes are sold in the POS for store 2, it will appear as though Double Cheeseburger has been sold.

In order to ensure the most accurate reporting, it is best practice to verify all store POS configurations match the Master Reference Unit.
