The Business Summary Report is a vertical presentation of a location’s key metrics including gross sales, net sales, sales tax, deposits, credit card transactions, and variance labor percentages. It is commonly used by management.
Accessing the Report
Navigate to Business Summary by clicking Menu, scrolling down to Sales and scrolling over to Business Summary. Click Business Summary.
Running the Report
Select the location by clicking the “Select Unit(s)” button.
- Click on the location desired, or select an Area to run the report for all locations within that Area (region).
- Select the desired date range.
- Click the “Date Range” button.
- There are two options available for the date range selection. Either select the period from the list displayed (to change the year select the desired year from the “Show Periods For Year” dropdown list) or choose custom dates by clicking in the “From” and “To” fields and typing in the desired dates. Click the down arrow in either field to see a calendar.
- Click OK.
- Click Run.
- The report will generate.
Features
DOW (Day Of Week)
To see a specific day of the week compared to the date range, Click DOW (Day of Week) and select the desired day. For example, if the date range is selected for an entire month, by clicking Monday, the report will show each Monday throughout the month in a separate column. The Totals column will be a sum of metrics for all Monday’s within the selected month.
Sales Type
“Sales Type” allows the user to switch between Net Sales and Gross Sales
Summary by
“Summary by” allows users to change the Columns from Day to Unit views. This is of particular use when an Area of stores is selected. When in Unit view, each column will reflect a single location. This is a valuable tool to compare locations productivity across the same date range.
Export
- Once the report has generated, it can be exported by clicking “Export”.
- Choose the desired file format from the drop-down list. The file format options included
- Microsoft Excel 2003 – 2007 (xls)
- Microsoft Excel 2010 (xlsx)
- Adobe Portable Document Format (pdf)
- Comma Separated Value (csv)
- Click the desired file format.
- The document will begin downloading to the computer.
