Period to Date Sales (Website)

The Period To Date report displays all of the essential sales metrics in one, easy-to-read report. Analyze gross and net sales, credit card payments, cash +/-, gift cards sold and redeemed, voids, comps, and more. This all-in-one report allows comparative views of sales across locations or sales by date.

Accessing the Report

Navigate to Period To Date by clicking on “Menu,” scroll down to “Sales” and scroll over to “Period To Date Sales.” Click “Period To Date Sales.”

Running the Report

  1. Select the location by clicking the “Select Unit(s)” button.
    • Click on the location desired, or select an Area to run the report for all locations within that Area (region).
  2. Select the desired date range.
    • Click the “Date Range” button.  
    • There are two options available for the date range selection.  Either select the period from the list displayed (to change the year select the desired year from the “Show Periods For Year” drop down list) or choose custom dates by clicking in the “From” and “To” fields and typing in the desire dates.  Click the down arrow in either field to see a calendar.
    • Click OK.
  3. Click Run.  
  4. The report will generate.

Features

Different features allow the user to get the most out of the Period To Date report by customizing certain parameters to fit specific needs.

Days

To see a specific day of the week compared to the date range, Click DOW (Day of Week) and select the desired day.  For example, if the date range is selected for an entire month, by clicking Monday, the report will show each Monday throughout the month in a separate column.  The Totals column will be a sum of metrics for all Monday’s within the selected month.

“Totals by” allows users to change the view to be organized by from Day (default), Unit or Date and Unit. This is of particular use when an Area of stores is selected.  When in Unit view, each column will reflect a single location.  This is a valuable tool to compare locations productivity across the same date range.

Expand All

The Expand All feature allows a detailed breakdown of the report. This enables the ability to see each employee’s total hours (Regular and OT) worked, pay rate, and tips for each day in the selected date range.

To review a summary, select “Collapse All”.

Show/Hide Columns

If there are certain metrics that inapplicable to a location, the user may decide to hide those columns from view. An example of when this may be used is if the location does not use the QSROnline Scheduler.  In this situation, a user may choose to hide the “Var Lbr Pct” column.

  • Click “Show/Hide Columns.”
  • Deselect the box next to the columns to be hidden or select the box next to columns that should show.
  • Click OK.
  • To cancel any changes made within the Show/Hide Columns window, click Cancel.

Export

  • Once the report has generated, it can be exported by clicking “Export”.  
  • Choose the desired file format from the drop-down list.  The file format options included
    • Microsoft Excel 2003 – 2007 (xls)
    • Microsoft Excel 2010 (xlsx)
    • Adobe Portable Document Format (pdf)
    • Comma Separated Value (csv)
  • Click the desired file format.
  • The document will begin downloading to the computer.

Why aren’t my metrics matching my POS?

If you notice a discrepancy in any information listed in the Period To Date report, first check your email for a Missing Sales email notification. Our Data Verification Team actively monitors your data on a daily basis. It is likely a Missing Data email was sent to inform you of the discrepancy and provide steps to assist us in rectifying the issue.
